On Saddam's Capture & The state of The USA
12/15/2003 09:26 a.m.
The world has lost it's latest reclusive mad man. Many are claiming this as the defining moment of President Bush's presidential time thus far. I say this means nothing. I say that the United States must stop playing the friendly giant in the middle east. I say that if they think this will stop violence against americans in Iraq they are sorely mistaken. The united states government has a blood-drenched foreign policy that has seen 1.5 million Iraqi children killed by direct economics caused by US sanctions. The United States government formerly supported Saddam Husein and provided his army with weapons to kill Iranians. Then the US "secretly" provided weapons to the Iranian army. Democracy must be achieved by a people standing up to their government and demanding their rights. Setting Baghdad aflame does not take Iraq any closer to democracy. It just leads to more deep seated anger in the middle east against the United States. The Government is doing nothing but perpetuating hate that has long since existed in the east. Removing one evil dictator will not change the course of violent backlash the United States will continue to recieve because the prop up Dictators and support Genocides. The US army is a gang of thugs who's main job is to strike fear into the masses of the world. What makes me sad is that the american people are so convinced that they are on the side of "right", that many believe that weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq. They have not. This was an illegal war fought for fictional reasons. And tyhe people of the US should be ashamed of what their country has become. The land of the ignorant and the home of the fraudulant.

since you have brought this to an area where a response is necessitated... i am responding... the fact that a couple of poets on this site have been told they are clueless and you have stated that all Americans are ignorant and fraudulent, warrants a serious inquiry in to YOUR actual motivation... as for myself personally, i merely stated, in MY journal that the world was a better place with the capture of a horrible, sadistic tyrant... period... my journal had absolutely NOTHING to do with the war, nor our involvement, nor the President... nothing... i am on this site to post my writings and appreciate the writings of others (including yours)... it is very unwise to lump an entire country into a misguided statement, no matter the feelings you have on the subject... and it is highly offensive that you have made a mountain out of a molehill, which has probably been your intention... for you to have your opinion is one thing... to distort another's opinion and take it out of context in order to propagate your OWN political agenda is quite frankly rude and offensive, in my opinion... if this is not your motivation, i would be happy to know what is... if this is your motive, to create problems in an otherwise gracious community, you will get no further response from this American... blessing!
