Not a believer in numbers, but....
12/29/2011 02:41 p.m.
I got my 60,606th read today and it was on Fair Lucy St. Anne, which kinda creeps me out, being about temptation directly from the devil herself...
Thankfully it didn't happen 4 days ago or on Holloween.

Body Count in Iraq war & other facts
10/21/2011 02:42 a.m.
Between 103,000 - 113,000 Iraqi citizens have been killed since war began in 2003.
From http://www.iraqbodycount.org/

4478 total US soldiers killed in Iraq since 3/19/2003: (3530 in combat)
250 total Since President Obama took office 1/20/2009: (126 in combat)

Wounded soldiers: 33,169 (offical) - over 100,000 (Estimated)
Over 2,000 others have been killed in Iraq from journalists to contractors and other other Coalition Troops.
From: http://antiwar.com/casualties/

If those are not enough reasons to be happy that war is ending in Iraq, how about I appeal to the Republican sense of greed.
nearly $800,000,000,000 just in Iraq!
Nearly $467,000,000,000 in Afghanistan
A running tally appears at http://costofwar.com/en/

In the place where Bin Laden was found and killed we spent nearly half as much money. It took President Obamas intelligence to find him in 2 years after Bush had seven years. If he had not wasted all that money and all those lives in Iraq, might he have been found in 1 year instead of nearly 10?

It's absolutely mind boggling, and we are still in Afghanistan because of poor handling of that war by the Bush Administration. If we had that money now, we might not be in the middle of a financial crisis now.

There are about 10 wars we are involved in right now. Still I can celebrate the ending of the one illegal war started by Republicans without any just cause. At least in Uganda we are putting an end to murderous violence of the (according to Rush Limbaugh) Christian "The Lord's Resistance Army" who have comitted various human rights violations, including murder, abduction, mutilation, sexual enslavement of women and children and forcing children to fight for them. But Rush thinks it's ok because they are fighting Muslums. More of the typical Repulican philosophy the rest of us have to clean up. Now President Obama has to take action and unfortunately go to war with psudo-Christians after the Bush administration ignored them for 8 years.

The difference beteen President Obama and war criminal Bush is that GW sent American soldiers to their death out of hatred while President Obama sends U.S. soldiers in to protect innocent life. I do not want us to be in any war, anywhere, but if we must, at least we can be consoled by the saving of lives and souls.

Don't ask, don't tell
09/20/2011 04:02 a.m.
I wrote 3 Seeds on 05/12/2003. In it I wrote:

The rainbow in their love filled lives kept them on the outside
Don't ask, don't tell the truth, there are rules to abide
Homophobia in fox holes is not morally justified
Love feels no conflicting virtues that ever could collide

This abomination of law has just come to an end and one more small step for mankind has been placed on the Earth. jj

Which fantasy is real?
08/01/2011 01:32 a.m.
I am left to ponder what is real and what is fantasy. It boggles the mind how multiple personalities seem to invade the minds of some who seem completely normal on the surface, but somehow juggle seperate lives that all get a share of the real world, but none live a complete life. It's strange to converse with someone who doesn't know you, but last night, she knew me so well she was willing to vow eternity was mine to ask for. And then to discover there were so many victims sparring within her brain to taste their moments of reality without ever being able to grasp it long enough to keep a promise. It makes me wonder if I am the one with the problem. Not that I have more than one personality, but that I am unable to accept all of hers and allow her all of those other lives that have nothing to do with me. I am not sure what ever made me want her or what makes me want her still. Sometimes I think it's all about hormones, just hormones that make desire more important than logic. It's a good thing I don't have any personalities lurking beneath the surface, otherwise they might undo all the barriors I have been erectling around erections that would lead me down a dark, swampy path that I imagine would drag me under the merky water where once I wanted to die. Cave of Forgotten Dreams
06/23/2011 06:01 a.m.
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/cave_of_forgotten_dreams/

This movie has been out for a couple of months, but it is just opening here in Albany, NY at the Spectrum.
As an artist, I have said many times that art is the greatest achievment of humankind. Our art is what sets us apart from all living creatures (with the possible exception of whales, who are very nearly as intelligent as we are) and we have been creating it for at least 30,000 years. I wonder if whales harmonize in secret.
They have 4 trailers on the website, I suggest viewing them all, they are facinating, and if the movie is playing near you, go check it out.
It is an honor to carry on a tradition that has been a part of us for as long as we have been us... JJ

Sympathy for the Devil on 6/6
06/06/2011 12:53 p.m.
I just logged in and saw that my reads were up to 49,666 which is kinda creepy, but add to that today is June 6th and it makes me wonder if today is going to be the rapture... Oh, and Sympathy for the Devil was playing on the radio just before that, but that might have been on purpose. Still it creeps me out.

Speaking of reads, only 6 people have read "Who’s in Control Here!?" since I updated it a few days ago. Even if you read it before, have another look, it really is more fun to read now. Just realize, it's sarcastic humor from the perspective of those who feel that way.

Work in progress

When the devil comes a callin'
Don't come cryin to me
Your sins are whathe's followin
I wouldn't save ya if you was me
Ya can't run when you are fallin
I couldn't help ya climb a tree
All them apples couldn't teach ya
The lessons in life are never free

This just popped in my head and I felt like saving it. Seems like as good a place as any. Don't have time to finish it and nowhere to write it down, HA! jj
