had a fairly decent day...other than my leg injury flaring up...which 2 weeks ago was diagnosed with PERONEAL NERVE PALSY on my right leg...and subsequently due to type of injury...I have broken my right little toe...which accounts for the pain and swelling...LOL Had a meeting tonight with the arts organziation I a member of. We are planning the FAVORITE POEM DAY which coincides with our cities annual arts festival in April. WE choose 6 personalities in our community to share a 3-6 minute poem up on a public stage for the lunch time "performance" piece. This was originally suggested for cities around USA by poet laureate, Robert Pinsky back in 1997. As well we are working with the local library staff in planning a month long events focused with poetry during April, national poetry month. Exciting to be part of a cultural event...and best yet it centers around poetry! I will do a workshop on using Microsoft Publisher to create your own chap books, we then will have 2 features, 2 open mics and one more workshop. Then to cap it off the Favorite Poem day towards the end of the month in April. Fun Fun... now off to start dinner, my gosh it is 8pm already...and then off to bed...what a day... Peace Mark

Freakin Out

OK...what a wild night...been doing some internet marketing with my spoken word poetry and MP3's did a kinda gutsy move tonight in sending an email blindly to the CEO of this new Indie music website...well the CEO bit on my offer...and we worked out a trade of sorts...then he keeps emailing me asking questions on my art and stuff....

so I did a web search on his name....OH MY GOSH...he is like this major player in Indie music out in LA...can't believe I spent most of the night trading emails with this mover and shaker...

kinda made me scared at first...but right on....sometimes you got to move past your limitations and take a chance...and tonight it has paid off....

OH MY GOSH...I can't believe it ....man...Karma is has been very good to me this week! :P

Well...hope you all are not getting tired of these... 08AUG2004 was voted BEST GUITAR track on Garageband dot com this week...and that is nothing of me...it's all TANNER...one of the finest bassists and guitar players in our poetry circle....this makes 3 weeks in a row our spoken word MP3's have won accolades in the on-going contest and as well 08UG2004 is now #34 out of 127 for ALL TIME on Spoken Word category and #13 in this weeks weekly charts ...he made me very proud and all of OKC...as now internationally in SPOKEN WORD...Oklahoma City is spotlighted again for a week...on garageband dot com WAY to go TANNER And the link to see and hear the song is http://www.garageband.com/song?|pe1|S8LTM0LdsaSkZFe1Zmw Peace Mark

Saturday Night Poetry

WOW...what a great night of poetry reading at our latest venue in Oklahoma City. A kewl coffee shop that features indie music after poetry and is open till 4am...how kewl is that? VERY!

The give us 2 hours of poetry..7pm-9pm...we all were there tonight in rare form...great fellowship and great readings.

Coffy and I had a great laugh and wrote a hilarious piece based upon a very strange email I got this week...what a HOOT! It was great...her lines were flawless and full of humor...she is such a great poet... we would post it...but it is to revealing and way to personal to some...but what a riot...she is such a great writer with a good sense of humor...we laughed so much that we both almost well never mind... LOL

this has been the best week in my 2005...very freeing and very good...especially with a strategic pre-empted move...that forced the true hand of others...what a great poker playing week this has been...and so freeing...as well it made for a great laugh with Coffy and I! :P

Well off to write some new works....

Not confused anymore

well the truth came out...and kinda funny...it came via email...30 minutes after I wrote GO AHEAD..BUST MY BUBBLE...and the context of that poem was accurate...LOL got to love synchronicity....verdict...some people are very sadistic and cruel...and mean spirited...not my worry...they have to live with themselves...not me...and that is a good thing LOL

Confused Thoughts

have a person who use to be a friend...who it seems right now is not...tho I always remained hopeful that we could bridge a dialogue...it seems he has refused to build...and I have found that his words were hard to understand...as he said one thing...but never acted upon that...and in the mix...a business transaction that I lost money over...so now...two are hurt...two remain non-talkative...two are apart....sad for both parties...and in my heart...I know if we could just sit down and talk openly...it could be resolved...tho I don't think this person wants me to call...so there's the confusion...two hurt...two who won't talk...and two who could have made it work...maybe in time...maybe another day...maybe soon...maybe not...the two will talk and work things out....

Weirdness to the 10th Degree

Today has been a hectic stressful day...office work load to the max...computer issues to the max...and so taking night off and resting and having a couple glasses of wine.

One of the poets I got to read and correspond on here...which is a great poet...weird this is...turns out to live in the same town as an old friend I am on the outs with. How friggin weird is that...it liked blew my mind load to capacity...tho I love to read her stuff...and I am finding through her great writing style I am learning how to improve my own writing...I hope we can remain talkative...but it's just so friggin weird...what are the chances????? And I know my old friend probably wishes I was dead...but hopefully in time it can be worked out...damn...life throws you some really corky screwballs at times....

Holiday

I had the day off due to MLK holiday. Nice to be able to lounge and write. I have written 3 new poems today...and might try for fourth..

Spent the weekend in an Artist Way one-day retreat with James Nave. He co-taught this course with the author, Julia Cameron. If you have not read the Artist Way...I would highly recommend it...great use of theories on how to stay active with ones creativity....
