For the ones you love

Can anything truly be good enough for them, or can anyone else truly love them enough? To be anguishing on the sidelines while the world hurls curveballs, drifts smoke and mirrors in their path, blinds itself to the diamonds and gold of their intellect and heart....and only to encourage and cheer them on thru such unholy territory, knowing they should not bear the burden of your emotions on their behalf while they navigate this sad bad world. After all, they did not ask to be born, and once born only asked for your love. Just to love is a very hard thing to do.

Not necessarily in this order:

My job
Where else in this perky breasted world could a mid-lifer
be truly appreciated each day.

My son
For validating all the sacrifice and love expended on him.
(All is forgiven for 1998, 1999, and the majority of 2000)

My car
For being a faithful sidekick and asking
so very little in return.

My son again
For giving me basis for belief that someday
I may be able to add his little sister to this list

My father
For showing by example everything I ever needed to know,
Including loving forgiveness when I ignored it.

My genes
That during the various stages of my life I never got hooked on alcohol, marajuina, xanax, prozac, or therapy. Not that I haven't tried a few.

My friends
Oh yes, my very good and fine companions.

I am currently Content
