I am Intimidated by Your Vague Poems by Johanna May
What I present is that which
Passes for generic.
Kids these days say: bitch is basic
No pathos won, after
soft umami metaphor
inside bone.
This clatter contrived
into form,
chooses bliss
handed freely by that goon
ignorance.
As obvious as "befores"
pre-makeover,
Boiled not carmelized,
no redeeming vagueness.
Commonplace except
for the improbability
of its arrival.

Posted by Richard Vince on 08/24/21 at 10:32 PM as someone who often writes vague poetry (sometimes so vague i have no idea what i was on about when i reread a few years later), i couldn't help but smile at this. :) what you write will always mean something to someone, even if it isn't what you meant. |
