the firefly by John HerzogI have never seen a firefly
fly in winter
but how I can fly for you
oh, how I can glow
even cast in snow
I shine brighter than Sirius
in his howling light
wings cocooned
in an ice iridescent
but never too heavy
as to keep me
from landing
in your backyard
