The dog lapping the cat's milk
Is not aware he is the one
The sign on the gate is cautioning
Everyone to beware
What does the dog care
About a sign which is not in keeping
With his true nature
But it is an owner's prerogative
To write what he will on a sign
Concerning his dog
Which is certainly not going to include
The part about his true nature
Which is lapping cat's milk
Till the cows come home
To squirt some more in his tin
And where is the owner's cat in all this
But he is gnawing on the dog's bone
Where else?
