A Long Way from Home

by Nicole D Gregory

I know this is not home

A long way from home
off in God's memory
is the home I've made

Talked out loud as a dying wish
to meet upon my path again
that leads to the life
I was meant to live

How many people know their destination?
What point is life that has no dedication?

Are you lost?
Are you a long way from home?

There's a map
Sovereign written
Guidance of Gold words
with in it's carved, silver frame

Until I have my way
and that's for God to say
I know this is not home
~and I am lost but
no matter where I roam

There is the expectation
that I will find my way

My worst case scenerio
I lose my direction

I ask you again and again
remember those qualities
Those moments
That sheltered me
~my self-made move-able walls
that were protective and

That stood where he stood
That allowed me to run away
because he would come find me
rebuild the walls
in every location

Until now ~ there are no walls
No shelter

A long way from home

So I rolled up my welcome mat
strapped it to my back

I'll just keep moving
walking around
I'm a long way from home

Author's Note: Until we meet back at Romeoville I am lost and miss my dad; but don't take my heartbreak for vulnerable prey... I will destroy anyone who tries to take my forever. ~N
