Hollow

by Vikki Owens

just remove
this beating heart
from the caverns of my chest
and i'll continue raving on
and hope for the best.
i'll improvise
and shamble along
in the perpetual motion
of someone long gone,
but continuing on.

Ah, how death hurts less than losing the heart doesn’t it? Good write lady.

One hell of a strong image. You absolutely nailed it to the wall.

Oh, i love this piece. the beating heart is a curse and a blessing. how wonderful this piece is. it screams to me the truth and reminds me that we are, infact alive after all.
