"May 6, 2009 1 p.m." by Max PhineasAlpha.
This morning
After coffee and cereal
I sat down and learned the Greek alphabet.
Decided to buy groceries
after the spring concert.
5 shots, or so I hear
An angry ex-boyfriend?
Twenty-one years
Ended in seconds.
Bolted doors and thousands of phone calls later
I sit down and learn tragedy.
Omega. 05/06/2009 Author's Note: This is dedicated to the student shot and killed on my campus today. My heart goes out to her family and friends. RIP J.J.

Posted by Kris Mara on 05/07/09 at 12:11 PM the greek alphabet and tragedy learned all in one morning. A horrifying story told very well here -- it's eerie and should be. |
Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 05/07/09 at 12:57 PM Simple and viciously direct. The best way to tell a story like this. |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 05/07/09 at 02:54 PM What a tragedy. I like the form of this expression - the alpha-omega, almost a quick walk to the event which is so final. |
