Alice's Little Baby

by Lyss Copeland

Blessed were the moments when your warm, gray fur
aroused memories of sweet lilacs blooming in a garden
back from the road, away from the world, distant from everyone;
yet Grandma and I were content, sitting together, alone.

Author's Note: This is honor to my Grandmother Alice, who passed away 5 years ago, and to her cat Baby, who is no also gone from my life. I miss you both.

Really an intimate look at this pair. That last line is perfect. Congrats on POTD!
