in memory. don't forget. by Morgan D HafeleI suppose I should say something
about the day and those sacrificed,
but what is there to say?
Hey, sorry you died in a horrific
blaze so that our government
could use your deaths to take
more life and rob us of our rights.
And we just let them drag your
memory through the mud. I'm
sorry that i stood idly by while
liars and politicians stole a country
using your memory to inject fear
so deep into our ignorant American
veins. I'm sorry that I didn't
stand, that I left my words all empty
and weak because action escaped me.
I guess looking back makes me want
to change the future.
I'm sorry we didn't learn our lesson. 09/11/2008 Author's Note: a day late and a dollar short, i tried

Posted by Charlie Morgan on 09/13/08 at 07:33 PM ...ahhh, yes morgan...love the 20-20 hindsight we all possess...yet, your question stands, why didn't a lotta things happen that should have?...after lo the many years: viet nam, afgan, granda, etc. i've got some guilt built-up in me for having done nothing but vote...that don't work, eh? |
