Convex (w/ Morgan Hafele)

by Anita Mac

I swear to god this town will kill me.

If I could just
get my head clear enough to focus
on something other than Home,
I think I'd be all set.

But, it's the unspoken
that really puts me off.

It's the way I believe everything
I see in your eyes.
The way that I pretend cloudy days
quench your lies and bring us closer to the truth.

But, I guess itÂ’s just me
looking too deep in shallow reflections.

A lot of the time, when I read people's poems on here, I try to pick out favorite lines as I read through to commend in the comment I will leave. This is one of those that I just kept adding lines to the list until I reached the end. So instead of reposting your poem in this comment, I'll just say the whole thing was awesome in my long-winded and overly-verbose fashion.
