I felt the shift tonight
somewhere between
the opening credits
and
the big dance number.

You held me close.
closer.
I could feel you shake
could feel your heartbeat.
th-thud, th-thud, th-ud.
faster and faster.

We left.
and
met back up.
at my place.

sitting there
in perfect
awkward
silence.

I could feel your body shake.
i looked up into your face;
and saw your eyes reflecting
back into mine.
like positive magnets
we resisted in a forcefield
but
then broke through
and sealed it with a kiss.
