Men Worth Knowing by Anita MacI know a man
who looks The Universe in the face
unabashedly
and lives for the betterment of humanity.
I know a man
who can back up his cynicism with a PhD,
but still approves of my ignorant Hope.
I know a man
who can write you down with such accurate humor
you'd find yourself laughing awkwardly
at the character he sees.
I know a man
who can fix your computer hardware and software
and the noise your car makes,
and will without a word
just because he noticed.
I know a man
who can make a cigarette sound like
twenty different emotions,
and leaves non-smokers lusting.
I know a man
in his later life
who gets up at four in the morning
and goes to bed at eleven at night
and spends every moment in between
on his art or teaching his art.
Who would you bare your soul to?

I can do what this man can with a cigarette,
I'm envious about everything else.
I see who I'd like to be here so
of course - I love this. |
Posted by Morgan D Hafele on 01/02/08 at 08:51 AM i can't say i'd bare my soul to any of them, or to anyone at all for that matter... but simply knowing is enough... i think... and knowing is worth more than being known... |
Posted by Laura Doom on 01/02/08 at 07:24 PM Hmm. Mine's still unopened, rapt in mystery...if I had the courage to bare it, I guess I'd go for #7 *vacuous smile* |
