The journey by Richard TrotterI crossed the Channel's waters
climbing each fireowrk implosion
to reach the ethereal land
formed by the North Star's implosion.
I watched the Hydra dancing
while touring the abyss
then rushed to navigate,
away from its biting kiss
In safety I watched the parade
of the royal emerald knights
as joyous ten foot children
toyed with platinum kites.
On the next road I met a wizard
selling cures for all disorders
cancer and heartache, potions stolen
from the visiting angel marauders.
I leapt on a cloud, floating below
down to the court of the porcupines
resting on their unlit woody banks
I stole a thousand armoured spines.
Then in the world besieged
my weapons flashed and turned
into the bones of raiding spiders
until our freedom was earned.
I saw the bloodstained soldiers
who died to defend the Dome
I saw it all decided
it would be better to go home. 10/27/2006 Posted on 10/27/2006 Copyright © 2025 Richard Trotter
