fushigi no kuni no alice by Frankie Sanchezsomewhere across this pillow
you look more like a vacation destination
and i'm feeling more and more like the homeland,
i imagine myself browsing your brochure,
in foreign languages,
offering lands-worth of wonder,
you're a remote resort in beijing,
you are exotic and yet baited
and barely distant,
though somehow this pillow feels like leagues,
your mouth like a horizon,
and your heart like something temperate
offers a more habitable climate,
you are so inviting,
i'm attracted and intrigued,
i'm somewhere off shore, i'm approaching,
hoping you can offer a nonsensical relief,
hoping i can arrive and be welcomed and
rest (assured) and take shelter
and grow comfortable enough to call you home.

Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 07/03/06 at 03:17 PM after reading this, and "bad math", i'm getting the vibe that you're on the verge of relationship and stepping into another's universe. i love all the travel references here (of course, me ocean lover). it reminds me/all of us that walking onto someone else's planet can honestly feel like a getaway from your own. john mayer says, "your body is a wonderland", so i guess everyone has that amusement park/vacation destination thing going. |
