True Love...
by Kristi PaikAs the milky way begins to fall like snow
We stroll along
You are like the moon
Pale and old,
Lighting the way to safety
Or to madness
(im still not sure)
We speak of the most overlooked creature
The squirrel
Who knows to eat
and smart enough to know
to save up for the winter as well
For once, i trust another human
I close my eyes and fall like a star
My heart turning light
as smoke.
In so little time you taught me
What I already suspected to be true
true love never lies
and true love never dies
you tell me to question authority
but above all to question reality.
We are not always what we seem, and hardly ever what we dream to be

The author's notes were also very special- my Dad's name was Seymour and he sounds very much like my Dad- a very wise man who loved the girls in his life. I felt like you had written this for me.
I loved my Dad very much- it must be something about the name :-) |

The last stanza, along with the quote, most certainly got to me. Yes, bringing tears to one's eyes is a very good way of describing this poem. My eye's glistened and I related to everything you stated. |
