Matinee of Luster

by Lulu Alder

And I want so desperately to be the pearl that you found
almost by accident.
I want to be that precious and that cherished in your eye.
I want to have the scent of moreĀ…
to be more sentimental
to you.

A little longer way of saying, "I want to be the apple of your eye." Or, "I want to be the lingering lotion on your face." Refreshing read.
