Paradox of Desire by Kristi Paik
i wish i could tell you
instead i poke you between your second and third rib
silently begging to see even the smallest smile sweep across your face
i am always alternately awkward and witty in your presence.
time drags on
teasing, tormenting me
we lay there
on your broken bed
our heads touching slightly
I want to tell you but
i dont know how to feel until I know what to think
I know i can tell you.
tell you how every time your around
my heart beats slow and fast all at once
how on the dullest flattest days you make me the world,
radiant.
I can tell you how you course though
my blue and green veins
I open my mouth to speak
before i move my lips you sigh
a sigh that stops the world.
time drags on
i feel, not see, how beautiful you are.
