...At least I'm never alone...

by Kristi Paik

those people you claim are friends
clicks form left and right
just like fucking high school
this is college????
"Best friends 'til the end"- so cliché

yet cliché suits you all so well.

the jocks, the cheerleaders
the geeks and the freaks.
you are all the same
despite the outward appearance.

I'd rather live a life alone than be like the rest of you.

My 15 friends will never leave.
They never judge me
They love me
No matter what.
Thank God I have my 15 personalities to keep me company.

At least we're not like the rest of you.

...nahahahahahaha, whew!, i love this one...speaks to us all, eh?...but you say it so emphatically and cute/bordering on lovely...great lil' ditty on a heavy concept...those poor souls who don't have the company of others living in their head don't know who/what they're missing...;-0, good toss of ideas...peace, chaz

The ending adds an interesting twist to a common feeling. It leaves me wondering about the other 15 and how many other things you agree on. You might like my poem, Knot In The Loop, though wwith a twist of it's own, the feelings about cliques is similar. JJ

Heh, yeah, I guess you could fit me into the freak category in high school; never made it to college. This is great stuff Kristi, nicely captures the various factions of school life. Bringing in multiple personalities at the end is priceless, and a worthy juxtaposition. Kudos!

How did I miss this one? A very not-so-nice look at HS life- LOVED the ending....simply wonderful!
