The Trembling Stone

by Chris Sorrenti

Pull the mound open
inhale the pungent fragrance of the landscape
amuse yourself but take your time
let the lava build inside

Get down on your knees and kiss that crevice
until it has an earthquake
then bury your drill in the shining jewel
in and out - out and in

A little rub-a-rub-a-rub on the trembling stone
to make a working man spill his oil

chris, i don't want to sway anyone else's take on this, er, straight up *grin* piece... IMO, it can be taken two ways... metaphorically... or... as I’d rather take it... erect and to the point... impressive word play here... blessings...

A blast from the past I see by the date on this. Tastefully and exquisitely written.
