Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 09/10/04 at 01:19 PM Superb expression...poem Mike. Justice will indeed be served no matter how long it takes to catch the cowardly Binladen, who sends others to do his dirty work. |
Posted by John Ilotan on 09/10/04 at 04:34 PM Great, tribute to an unforgetable day that stole the lives of thousands and changed the lives of millions,...and yeah unprovoked. |
Posted by Charles E Minshall on 09/11/04 at 02:56 AM Very well done Mike. "A day that will live in infamy".....Charlie |
Posted by Kenneth Lau on 09/11/04 at 03:09 AM I tend to question the unprovoked part myself...it really is a great poem, but the problem with poems with political content is its so easy to get caught up in disagreeing. It really is a wonderful tribute, even if I don't think we should go kill the beast. |
Posted by Michelle Angelini on 09/11/04 at 03:25 AM Your words flow so well, that the rhyme scheme worked to draw me through the whole poem (almost in one breath). I'm not sure about the unprovoked, so no comment to that. ;-) |
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 09/12/04 at 01:14 AM Powerfully and eloquently stated. (After the election we in the USA will be back to fighting terrorism united!) |
Posted by Mara Meade on 09/12/04 at 03:18 AM I appreciate the imagery and passion in this poem, almost as much as I admire the talent of one who can write in many varied forms! You sho' can tell a story! This has a tinge of the Book of Revelation to me, and I felt the poem unfold as an incredible drama... |
Posted by David R Spellman on 09/14/04 at 05:10 PM A very eloquently presented tale of that day of infamy and the resolve it has inflamed in some of us to combat the terrible murderers. Excellent! |
Posted by Charles M Harrison on 08/06/06 at 10:24 AM One of the best poems I have read about 9/11. I just don't understand how some can question the unprovoked part. Congradulation on POTD. |
Posted by Mara Meade on 08/06/06 at 07:57 PM Now, on this day, this poem is an excellent reminder of a chapter in our history that is still unresolved. Congrats on POTD. |
Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 08/06/06 at 08:30 PM This stirs and brings such sadness, -the kind of sadness we need to contemplate.
I am glad this is POTD!

Posted by Maria Terezia Ferencz on 08/07/06 at 01:38 AM Great story, if only it were just a tale and not true....... |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 08/08/06 at 03:23 AM Great to read this again Mike, and also to see it it on the top 10. Well done! |
