my first poem by Richard TrotterI wish I could take
a flaming sword
and tear apart the skies
then leave behind the burning city
as windows shatter in slow motion
soaring into the abyss
And beyond, I go walking
in sultry summer rain
gripping her slender hand
in our peaceful unity
her soaked hair, clinging to her face
Together, adrift in another place
the land where moonlight
animates my dreams 01/16/2004 Author's Note: this was the first poem I wrote. it was previously posted as "untitled" when I was a member before.
