my first poem

by Richard Trotter

I wish I could take
a flaming sword
and tear apart the skies
then leave behind the burning city
as windows shatter in slow motion
soaring into the abyss
And beyond, I go walking
in sultry summer rain
gripping her slender hand
in our peaceful unity
her soaked hair, clinging to her face
Together, adrift in another place
the land where moonlight
animates my dreams

The energy in this piece is amazing.. it's like a dozen powerful emotions all rolled into a very concise and equally powerful poem.. I say it's a Great first work.. ;)

Pretty good for a first poem Richard. I in fact see two separate poems here.
