colours dance

by Betania Tesch

you come to me
all warm colours
melting pink lips
into my cool white skin
and pushing redhot arms
against me
as our bodies spin together
and topple down
a heap of colours
all tangled together
making a brown emotion
come through
as we pull apart
into separate worlds again
and our lachrymose bodies
make a centrifuge
spinning off the other's colours
to be alone again.
we reach pinks and blues
arms extended in need
in desperation
but the touch slips from
clashing fingertips
as colours refuse to blend
and only the cold air
can feel our empty embrace.

Author's Note: This is something I've been rolling over in my head about this interpretive dance I saw, sort of mixed together with another one...and anyway, it just speaks to the isolation that came through so bitingly.

Gorgeous. My imagination was popping and my was sopping up this artfull piece. It flows really well, but more than that, the images touch the skin and move inward from there. Well done, Bethany.

As an artist, I can certainly relate to colors dancing together and I definitely enjoy your metaphoric interpretation. I especially like the personification of the hues and their inter-relationship to one another. Great close, Bethany, I'm green. Pe4ce...
