Questioning Raindrops by Kate Demeree Once more you hold me father Clay in your knowing hand Willful child that I am I do not understand There is no comprehension As tears flow free I open my being to thee
I know not how to be Other than to love fully Why is it you have created me For what purpose Must I walk always alone? A wayward child questions Raindrops in the night

Posted by Maureen Glaude on 12/12/03 at 05:30 PM that last stanza really reached me, but the entire poem did. You could have been walking with me at some earlier points in my life |

Posted by David R Spellman on 12/15/03 at 09:19 PM Deeply touching this one is Kate. A feeling I have often felt myself. It is a comfort to know however that there is a purpose whether we may see it or not. The setting of questioning in the rain adds so much to it too, as rain often compels us to introspective contemplation. Really nice! |
