apocalyptic flashes of neon light
"would you like a drink?"
 
tat tat tat
 
swirling twirling blurred images
pummel the senses
 
"my earplugs don't work"
"take another breath, my dear"
(but the images will not fade)
 
we lie here, in our little cave
paralyzed by the unknown

this is a great beginning. i think using the word "image" twice kinda cheapened the ordeal. otherwise, i liked the flow. and what's the reason for the "tap tap tap"?
