"i'm sleeping with myself tonight"

by Olivia Weinkein

i throw myself into all of your darker
places. i never could get anything right.
i pound on you with words rather than fists
because i'm too tired of mediocre breaththroughs
and breaking something of yours momentarily
was never on my extended plan agenda.
i never could do anything right and you talk
feelings and of being alone and you say you
miss me but what is it you miss, i mean really,
when i'm too drunk for any mind-tumbling tasks
and you don't care enough to ask me what i really
mean when i speak with crushed sentences
in a static broken voice silently begging for
you to understand what it is i can't say when
i choose to say i love you over and over instead.

Well, Understanding is always the understanding of what is and not whats said or unsaid. And what counts is this understanding. You have this ability to SEE things from altogether a different layer of awareness.

Rythmic rant, but so easy to follow.

this struck a nerve with me, i know it's how i usually deal. it is a well-written and thought out poem, as is most of your others. thanks for sharing!

Raw and packed punch emotion. Nicely bled.
