it makes you crazy after awhile

by Olivia Weinkein

mama wears schizophrenia in pastels
and neutrals to bring out fall from
half past winter days
has arguments with the kitchen sink
on who can suck down water the fastest
and she could win
if she really wanted to
and the clothes hamper is angry
never full enough
says it's moving on
dirty lives and dirty skin is what it needs
just to get a little rest, feel at ease
and
this is all for the best
everything
down to the soap suds choking in
the kitchen sink and
mamas hands trying to
rescue them.
she says she hears them screaming.

and really, this is all for the best.
everything.
and everything.

Cuando el argumento coloquial y estetico se funden, quien lo logra tiene talento... Great talent Olivia

i like the first line..i love concrete images. pastels really set the tone of the poem, because it's such a stark message and voice.
