Haven

by Jayme L Helmick

I've found a haven in your arms
That carries me inside
When shelter seems so far
Love is in your eyes
My heart is yours to break
I gave it all away
When I just can't stand this ache
I live another day

You stole my heart
You took my pain
Sheltered me
In your pouring rain
I look to you
For dreams so true
and come away
come away

I've found a freedom in your arms
That steals my breath so high
I know I'm safe from harm
With the thief of my pride

You stole my heart
You took my pain
Sheltered me
In your giving rain
I look to you
For dreams so true
and come away
come away

The pain of fear and loss and pain
Melts away in your embrace
The walls are down
I tumble down
You steal my love
It is your crown

You stole my heart
You took my pain
Sheltered me
In your loving rain
I look to you
For dreams so true
and come away
come away
come away

Author's Note: I actually wrote this as a song; now I just need to find the melody!

I like this. I don't know why you think you aren't talented; we all grow with each poem.
