Burn One Down

by Thomas K. Hunt

I'm not hurting anyone so let me be
I just want to burn one down, sit back and be me
Come shake my hand, it's easy you'll see
Come on over and burn one down with me

We'll sit back in comfort and play a few tunes
or just sit back and act like a couple of goons
with no place to go and a long time to get there
We'll just burn one down and sit back without a care

It's my happy place
You can see it on my face
I'm always smiling when I burn one down
Just hit it once and pass it around

There's just one thing that I enjoy more
but I left it in another room on the other side of the door
Let's burn one down, let's do it again
and if you like bring along a friend

I'm not hurting anyone so let me be
If you want to burn one down sit down with me
Come shake my hand, it's easy you'll see
Come on over and burn one down with me

I'm free every night but I've chosen just one
That's the only night I'm aloud to have fun
Saturday night is the only night for me
That's the only night I burn one down you see

I remember the days of old when highs where bought and sold
Nothing's changed from way back when
I still smile every Saturday my friend

Come on my friend let's do it again
Sit right down and we'll burn one down
Sit next to me and we'll pass it around
It's time to smile and forget to frown

I'm not hurting anyone you may clearly see
I just want to burn one down, sit back and be me
I've been a contender all of these years
I've seen where laughter can cause a few tears

I'm not hurting anyone so let me be
I just want to burn one down, sit back and feel free
Come shake my hand, it's easy you'll see
Come on over and burn one down with me

Head for Burning Man some year. I have not been, but I think it's just the ticket for this urge. Sounds like it could be a winner of a song.
