topic: everything you touch turns to fool's gold

by Amanda L Marron

Took years to break down blockades of lies
Unrecognizable truth fills the void
Not ever knowing what to believe
Sugar-coating your words
Making them sound sweet with your bitter voice
A hypocritical hysteria

Some days I feel like I should just let it all out
To give up and just go home
Restless of all the useless tears
Crying until my tear ducts are dry
Fake smile frosted across my face
A fool's gold lost

Been there, done that. You described my now-untrusting heart with your words, Amanda. Good work on Aaron's topic.
