35 miles from my soft pillow

by Gavin M Roy

I am so tired
I wish I were wired
I surely need a Jolt
Or at least a cold Coke

Could help my situation
Alleviate this prostration
I need my sugar fix
My mind is playing tricks

My limbs feel so heavy
The sleepless tax levied
Shoulders sore as they hang
Heavy with muscle pain

I know itÂ’s because I woke up early
But could it also be turning thirty?

Feeling a bit anxious about this upcoming one? I can relate to the tired, but I think that's just part of parenthood in general.

*laughing* Oh, yeah, 30'll do that to you. Pleasant read, Gavin; thanks.

LOL!!! You've just begun to run the race! Now tell me about it when you reach 70! *winks* Happy Birthday and best wishes "young'n'"!

Pretty soon you'll be crouched over and going through your mid-life crises... oh wait a minute that describes me. Great verse and thanks for sharing.

Welcome to "young old age"? Heh. A very enjoyable poem with a catchy sort of pace to it. Enjoy 30, and try not to think too much about the fact that you're really working on your 31st year...errr... ;)
