ode to a yawn

by Gavin M Roy

it is more contagious
than any disease
a simple act that
brings conversation to its knees

sometimes covert
but mostly overt
a yawn will say so much
of conversation interest and such

no matter how hard you try to contain it
no matter what words you used to explain it
you can not deny just how
you enjoyed that yawn just now

OMG....how did you know Gavin I would yawn? (dang even twice) It was the funniest thing to read. Thanks for the laugh. I loved it!

Very clever, this humorous ode to a yawn. The surest faux pas in polite company. The genteel hide it behind a fan or hand! A fun read!

Between the poem and the comments, I think I had to hide about 4 of them... lol very witty, and so true! = ) Think I'll take that nap now.
