ode to a nap by Gavin M RoyWhether on a mat
Bed, couch or rack
Nothing is better
Not even a snack
Dust dancing in the window
And kids can not know
The inner peace found
In the quiet afternoon sound
Of a nap
Sheets freshly laundered
In dreams my mind wanders
A breeze says hello
As it blows through my window
As I nap
Now my pets are in on it too
Stretched out and sleeping
My bed is like a zoo
I know they like the feeling
Of the nap
Who could argue with the fact
Nothings better than a nap
Once you wake refreshed
Time is never pressed
After a nap
Sure my kids protest
At the thought of rest
But when they wake refreshed
They behave the best
Once theyve napped.
So after all this has been said
Youve read and read and read
I bet you cant argue that
You wont accept the fact
You want to nap

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 10/08/02 at 01:22 AM What can I say that has not already been so well expressed? You catch an ordinary event in life and look at it with refreshing perspective! And oh, yes, naps are more important than they use to be! Comes with "maturity". LOL! |

Posted by Rommel Cruz on 11/19/02 at 05:24 AM Haha. I love to take naps. I like the part on yor kids protesting about naps. When I was little, I did protest a lot. I didnt understand why my mom will ask me to take a nap instead of letting me play. But now, I sure wish I have lots of time to nap. =)) |
