Fools Journey

by Dawn M Williams

Fears black wings
Envelop my being.
I fear you;
The potential damage
You may inflict upon my heart.

Your beauty stuns my senses
And thoughts of you crowd my mind-
It grows pregnant with emotion.
I long to have you grace me with a smile, a touch, a casual glance.
I feel foolish for these feelings
Yet my arms ache to hold you
Within my embrace.
My lips hunger to taste your sweetness and your strength.

You believe I am strong,
But I feel weak for these emotions.
Can you not see what place you hold
Within my heart?
Can you not see what you mean to me?
