This Masterpiece Of Madness
My first attempt at putting together a tightly woven theme collection, at a time when things weren't going well on the home front. My son was in and out of psychiatric hospital due to Clinical Depression. I was in a dead end job, money was tight, all of which created various kinds and degrees of stress in my own mind. On the bright side, the Internet was now accessible to the public, offering new horizons for writers. As a result, it was the incentive I needed to do a massive reorganization of my work (1997) in preparation for this new medium. I decided then to take all the things going on in my life, and the world at large, along with various personal demons and idiosyncrasies, and put the resulting poems together in a collection that covers the period 1994 to 1998, along with a few earlier pieces that apply to the theme. The manuscript begins with the poem/lyrics, Dance With The Madman, which gives the reader a good indication of what the book is about.
