Lisa Marie Brodsky, originally from Chicago, now resides in a small town outside Madison, Wisconsin, and has received her MFA in Poetry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her poetry has appeared in The North American Review, The Loch Raven Review, Evergreen Review, Pirene's Fountain, Poetry Motel, Illya's Honey, Premiere Generation Ink, the Atanta Review, The Southern Ocean Review, Ampersand Poetry Journal, and won 1st place in Circle Magazine's Poetry Contest and 3rd place from the Writers' Workshop in North Carolina. Her fiction has been published in the Taj Mahal Review out of India and Ascent. She has been published online at www.latchkey.net under February Poets, www.madpoetry.org under local poets and in Born Magazine www.bornmagazine.com. Her chapbook, "We Nod Our Dark Heads" was published by Parallel Press in 2008 and Salmon Publishing will be publishing her first full-length collection, "The Sum of Our Burning." in 2012.
Lisa is married and stepmother of three children. A chapbook about stepmothering is in the works.
