Re-writing The Wasteland The purpose of this excersize is to update the imagery of T.S. Eliot\'s masterwork \"The Wasteland\" and to provide similar societal criticism while preserving the original rhythm and incidental rhyme whereever possible. Some lines are very astringently modeled while others yaw a bit farther out of Eliot\'s wake. As often as possible, I directly contradict Eliot, choosing antonyms particularly for verbs. I strive especially to include any and every reference that I can possibly squeeze in regarding anything that didn\'t exist in Eliot\'s time.
