| Ernest A. Schluter, Sr. went to be with the Lord Friday, March 11, 2005. He was born March 25, 1926 in Hamburg, Germany and resided in Pensacola since 1949. Ernie was a wonderful husband and great father.
Ernie served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Forestry. He served his community as a Forester, Realtor/Broker and served with Estes Timber Company for many years.
Ernie was an avid outdoorsman involved in both hunting and fishing. He was President of the S and W Hunting Club. He was also an accomplished woodworker and craftsman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Patricia Schluter. They resided together in Gulf Breeze since 1971. He is also survived by his children, Ernie A. Schluter, Jr., Yancy B. Spencer, III, Marie D. Head, Debra L. Posey, John S. Spencer, Bobby J. Schluter, Jane E. Smith and J.B. Schluter; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Mitchell of New Port Ritchie, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.
