The Journal of Dave Fitzgerald

Proud of my son Garen
09/19/2006 10:03 a.m.
Last week I was told by my sons teacher that he had produced the work of a senior high school pupil. Here in England that is for a boy of about 15 or 16 years. We have had a few problems in the past with teachers claiming that he was autistic... amongst other conditions, but he always proved them wrong when he was tested, and managed to produce results above his age level. But now he finally has a teacher who believes in him and he's started to put the effort in in class.

This is his piece of work.

Macbeth

A dagger speeding to its victim
A blade eager for war
The throne waiting for a King, once Thane of Cawdor
The battlements making a rock crown
Revenge wielding his weapon.

I'm very proud of him. Garen has just turned 10.

You have good reason to be a proud Dad, and he should be proud of you as well....for not giving up on him! You sound like a great Dad!
