CATs and viruses ...
02/10/2006 11:40 p.m.
So, Monday morning I go for my six month CAT Scan. Aside from hoping I'm still cancer free, I also hope I can keep from coughing, hacking and sniffing in the machine. There's something going around and it knocked on my door and came right in ... without permission. It attacked me from the low back on up, has grappled with my throat and ears, made itself right at home in my chest and looooves to keep my nose to the point where it's all red around it from wiping all the time.

Anyway, if I do so feel, I will write more later. Then again, I may just go to sleep for a couple days.

Well, I AM back and why I'm back is something that I can't quite understand myself. Guess I kinda figure if I'm gonna be hacking and wiping my nose constantly, I might as well do it in front of my computer screen rather than in bed. Ahhh, the big snowstorm is predicted for the early afternoon hours of Saturday into the late morning hours of Sunday. I truly haven't seen a BIG snowstorm all season, so don't exactly expect this one to be anything horrendous. Besides, I haven't purchased my orange, plastic toboggan for the season yet. I need at least one good rip roaring ride down a hill in the park that makes my stomach go flip flop, flop flip each and every winter season. Now, I don't want to have to risk doing that when I'd have to stuff tissues up my nostrils to keep them from running and my fever is running 101 degrees. Nope, I'm assuming this is not the "big one" yet. On the way to the zoo in my head tonight, I tripped over some of the most amazing memories. <--- wow, wouldn't that make a good line for a poem??? LOL! Ya know I hated salad when I was a kid and love salad now? However, I always loved brussel sprouts as a kid and still do as an adult. Contrary to both of those memories, I once liked Bit-O-Honey as a kid but ate so darn much of it at one time. I then couldn't stand it as a kid and still won't touch the stuff today. Then again, I don't even know if they make it today, but it's good to know I wouldn't touch the stuff even if they did. Okay, anybody who has a debilitating illness and wants to be cryogeniclly(sp?) frozen in this lifetime and brought back to life when there is a cure ... raise their hand? C'mon, where's that show of hands? I'm watching. No takers? Me either. Nope. Not messing with me in the freezing machine and bringing me back to an era where I not only don't know anybody, but feel so darn outta place because I'd be the stuff of history books. Then again, who's to say there will be a world left which has become so developmentally scientifically sound that it would even be possible to bring me back? I'll take my licks as they come right now and not complain. Well, I'll do my share of complaining but I truly don't expect sympathy. I'm simply venting. Good golly. I'm getting tired. Can ya believe that? My brain must be taxing on my nose and throat ... or is it the other way around? Either or ... I'm gonna go to bed.

Wait a sec! —I'm presently living in THIS era, "don't know anybody", and "feel so darn outta place" ...so, well, you guessed right, I'm certainly not raising my hand for another round of it'all. Drink noodle soup. [ cough-cough ] Sleep til Spring. [ it's only 5-6 weeks away anyway ] weep with friends. :)
