The Journal of James A Holt

New old friends
04/01/2003 10:33 p.m.
I just added a few more "tweaks" to my poetry and I decided to to go check out some of my friend's works. I also read journal entries to see what was going on in their lives. While reading one she stated that she felt like she hasn't been a very good friend to someone. It kinda hit that I wasn't to far from the same situation myself.

I however, feel that what I have done is more obnoxious than being a careless friend. I'll explain. I'm a jester. I like to make jokes and to make people laugh, sometimes at my own expense. All well and good however, I'm also a perv., making sexually related jokes more often than not. This is WAY more often than not. Needless to say with this attitude many of my old friends have "put me to pasture". This hurts me alot. I love my new friends, but if weren't for my old friends I would be alot further behind. This leads me to a conundrum: how do I "reaquaint" myself with these people without leading them to believe that I haven't changed? Any advice would be appreciated. I suppose until I find a better strategy, it will have to be this - "Small steps. One person at a time."
I am currently Somber
I am listening to keyboard typing.
