When an immovable object meets an irresistable force what is going to occur? That is how I am feeling about the Mideast right now. Neither Israel or the PLO wanting to budge and inch! Thus lives are lost, property destroyed, peace-talk made a sham. I say a plague on both parties. However, I also say. "Why are we dealing with a known terrorist who does not act forcefully against terrorists in his midst?" Arafat cannot be trusted. Though I believe Israel should withdraw it will solve nothing unless the PLO really goes after the terrorists. A lot of disinformation is being spread from Palestinian spokespersons. The West Bank and Gaza are both under PLO authority. But Israel wants Jewish settlements there protected. That I think is not occupation. The Palestinians don't want them there but that is a matter of negotiation--not an excuse for terrorism. Now I think I have sounded as knowledgeable and reasonable as any TV commentators (with their big salaries). 4-14-02
