Philosophy is Tricky

by Rachel C Johnson

When you wake up writing poetry
you expect something bigger, better
than you ever actually get.
You expect anything at all
from your day, and when it’s over
you are left with nothing,
just rolling in disappointment.
Words are eluding, philosophy is tricky.
And when you wake up with poetry,
it messes with your senses
and fucks with your mind.

Author's Note: Not poetry; not really. If anything, a diatribe, full of cynicism and sarcasm. So, read like you would if you were feeling particularly trenchant. Happy readings.

You have an easy way of explaining your thoughts. Just perfect the way it is.

LOL! Sure can relate to this one. Like car breakdowns, the squeeky wheel gets the oil, if we take the time to put out the fire. Some of my best poems have come from paying attention, despite at the most inopportune times.
