omnipresent by Elizabeth SeagoWoven golden centerpiece
Beautiful & pointless.
Fill me up with apples, bananas and other assorted fruits.
Put me on display.
When you tire of me,
I'll be on the 25 cent table
At an annual yard sale.
Your trash, their treasure.
"What a deal!"
They will rave.
.... 09/16/2008 Author's Note: Once I'm gone you will crave me.

| Posted by Jon Kary on 09/16/08 at 10:16 PM There is a haiku's essential and precise beauty to this poem, particularly the final stanza. There is something in the way that you artfully present sensory representations combined with candid portraits of personal experiences and feelings from which you have gained wisdom that I find delightful. Thank you, Elizabeth. |
