From Within by Ryan BauerIn my mind,
behind my eyes
there is
entropy manifest-
in fabric set by ink,
and by pen.
I sense
behind this door,
this darkness
is encroaching
to
every
possible
pore,
every tiny niche
approaching
every wide corridor...
shining deep
within the darkest brightness,
overwhelming shadows weep-
with a quickening
and then a slowing,
there's a beastly heart
that pumps its flowing..
although the talons seem to creep,
I show them I am frightless-
my body and my thoughts aglowing,
and I face them in my sleep. 08/26/2006 Author's Note: I wrote this up under inspiration from some abstract artwork...first edit.

| Posted by CM Bauer on 08/31/06 at 05:09 AM Ryan, this makes me sad... but I love it, it reminds me a lot of The Raven by Poe... good word choice, you used rhyme with elegance here, not at all sloppy. But it makes me want to cry. |
