Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 01/30/06 at 02:16 AM Instead of a poem about the sea, it's like the sea is about a poem....really fascinating, Jill. I love it.

| Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 04/03/06 at 04:10 PM I can't believe I have not commented on this poem before!!! I feel like it singa in my mind from many readings! It is so musical and true. I think I got lost trying to find Odette...and that is why I never wrote the comment...the Swan Lake story has an odette that is trapped in the body of a swan until recognized by her true love...also I take it as a little ode! Probably not the right interpretation...but I just love this poem, and in fact...swimming in our pool teo days ago, I wrote a little poem that is this poems
little sister...without realizing...quite different, but related, surely...I will post it
later. It is called "My Watery Muse, the Moon".

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 11/06/06 at 08:32 AM Odette was a wonderful singer and this poem is a wonderful song and it brims with fascinating rhythm and sweeping sounds which alleviate all the noises in the mind and portion off all dust therein collected to its rightful bin.
Posted by Tony Whitaker on 12/30/06 at 04:34 AM So efficiently written adn imagery abounds. In my favorites now!

Posted by Mara Meade on 07/09/07 at 08:39 PM This grows more precious over time... as would the Muse who brought it...
Posted by Stephan Anstey on 02/19/09 at 11:02 AM You know, generations of poets will grow jealous of your skill.
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 02/19/09 at 12:48 PM This has a wonderfully archaic almost Edgar Allen Poe feel to it. Haunting, but beautiful in its rhyme and reasonable choice of words.
Posted by Glenn Currier on 08/07/09 at 02:31 PM Each time I visit your lines they write something new into my imagination. The ease and beauty of the rhymes sing. Blessed muse, blessed Elizabeth may you ode over and over. I look forward to the moontides yet to come from your sweet poetic soul.
