Upon Stargazers

by Trent Kirkpatrick

the moon gazes upon stargazers.

catching their lines of sight and
rendering them in silvery strings
that he weaves between the stars.
the cosmic spider.
he laughs at star maps
and the notion that constellations exist if no one is there to observe
or connect them.

I was skimming through recently posted poems when the line "the moon gazes upon stargazers" caught my attention. I love the analogy! :)

"The cosmic spider". Very unique description. Lovely imagery too and great flow and that touch of humor brings it to life. "and the notion that constellations exist if no one is there to observe" is a paradox well observed and well versed. Well done.
